Harry Potter star Emma Watson banned from driving as she’s caught speeding
Emma Watson has been banned from driving after she was caught speeding in her Audi last year, a court heard, with the Harry Potter star now banned from the road for six months

Harry Potter star Emma Watson has been slapped with a driving ban after admitting to speeding. The actress was hit with the charge by mail after clocking 38mph in a 30 mph zone last July in Banbury, Oxford.
Despite already pleading guilty, she opted for a full court hearing but didn’t show up for the brief proceedings. Watson is now facing a six-month ban from the driver’s seat. She’s also been ordered to pay a £1,044 fine.
During the hearing, it was revealed that she already had nine points on her license, which led to her ban. The case unfolded at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on July 16. There were suggestions that Watson – iconic for her role in Harry Potter – that she might try to soften the charges by citing mitigating circumstances.

The 35-year-old was arrested for speeding on July 31, 2024. She was behind the wheel of her £30,000 blue Audi S3 when she triggered a speed camera on Banbury Road.

At the time, Emma was immersed in a creative writing course at the University of Oxford. However, reports have since surfaced that she left that course and instead started a PhD in Philosophy.
The star shot to fame at the tender age of 10 in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, portraying Hermione Granger in all of the films.
After the wildly successful franchise wrapped up, Emma starred in a host of movies, including The Bling Ring and the live-action rendition of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Her most recent major acting role was in 2019’s Little Women, sharing the spotlight with Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan, and Timothee Chalamet.
Her academic pursuits took center stage as she embarked on a master’s degree in creative writing in September 2023.
She then commenced a three-year PhD program in 2024.

A source confided to Mail Online: “She mingles among other students, and blends into the background. But she does attend social events and is often spotted with her books and her boyfriend at local coffee shops.
“She started last year – she loves Oxford and has made a happy life for herself there.”
Beyond her scholarly endeavors, Emma has been the face of several environmental charity initiatives.
