This Morning’s Rylan Clark brought the show to a halt to share his frank views on illegal immigration, expressing his disbelief at the “absolutely insane” sight of people crossing over to England in small boats and being welcomed with an array of luxuries, including iPads.
He stated: “This country is built on immigration. Legal immigration – a lot of the nurses, the doctors that have saved my mum’s life have come over here from other countries. They’re living a great life, they’re paying into this tax system, they’re helping this country thrive.”
However, he condemned the recent spike in perilous Channel crossings, adding: “I find it absolutely insane that all these people are risking their lives coming across the Channel.
“And when they get here, it does seem, and I think this is why a lot of Labour voters as well are saying there’s something wrong, it feels like ‘Welcome, come on in’. That’s the narrative we’re being fed.”

His comments sparked a wave of support on social media, with viewers hailing him a “legend” for speaking “the truth”. One viewer tweeted: “Yes somebody saying what the vast number of British citizens are saying on TV.#thismorning.”
One other said: “Rylan talks about immigration on this morning, video is worth a watch, he’s saying what majority of us are thinking!”
But others complained against the star, with one writing: “You spread Reform misinformation shite this morning. Thought you were better than this. Unfollowed.”
