Davina McCall and her partner Michael Douglas lit up the red carpet at the National Television Awards — and this time, Michael gave fans exactly what they wanted to hear. After years of speculation, the celebrity hairdresser confirmed that marriage is definitely on the cards.
Michael, who first met Davina when he styled her hair during her Big Brother presenting days, revealed: “Yes, there will be wedding bells. We’ve been together for six years now and we know it’s the next step. We’re not talking about ‘if’ anymore, but ‘when’.”
The couple’s love story began long before they started dating in 2019, two years after Davina’s split from her ex-husband Matthew Robertson. Their friendship slowly turned into romance, and over time they became inseparable.
Michael has been by Davina’s side through the toughest of times, including her health scare last year when she underwent a craniotomy to remove a benign brain tumour. The operation left her temporarily struggling with memory loss, which she admits tested their relationship. But their bond only deepened, thanks to what Davina calls their “radical honesty.”
“Michael was brutally honest with me during recovery — sometimes admitting I drove him mad — but he never left my side. That’s why I know we’re ready for marriage,” Davina said with a smile.
Earlier this year, Davina received the all-clear after an MRI scan, allowing her to return to hosting ITV’s Long Lost Family. Now, with Michael openly declaring that a wedding is on the way, fans are already speculating about when the much-loved TV star will walk down the aisle.
