DON’T MISS IT !! Bethany’s Coronation Street return storyline finally revealed – and she’s broken the law
Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) is back in Coronation Street in episodes airing soon – and our first glimpse of her is in a police interview room as she makes a dramatic reappearance in Weatherfield.
We last saw Bethany in February. The beloved character had been through a tumultuous time after having a liposuction operation in Turkey. This went wrong, with life-threatening consequences for Bethany. She developed sepsis during the operation and ended up needing a permanent stoma bag.
She struggled with her self esteem in the wake of this as she came to terms with having the stoma, but during this time she rekindled her relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), with the couple becoming engaged.
Unfortunately, Daniel found himself torn between Bethany and feelings he still had for his former fiancée, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan). Daisy and Daniel had a one night stand, and when she discovered she was pregnant there was a 50/50 chance that the baby was Daniel’s – the other candidate being Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).

When Bethany revealed that she and Daniel had set their wedding date, Daisy dropped the bombshell that Daniel could be the father of her baby – much to the humiliation of Bethany.A distraught Bethany ended things with Daniel and headed off to London for a new life – a storyline which covered Lucy Fallon’s maternity leave absence.Lucy has since given birth to a daughter, Nancy Margaret, who is a sister for her son Sonny Jude. The actress shared gorgeous pictures of the new arrival on her Instagram in January, saying she was ‘in a bubble.’
Now Bethany is back, and she’s up in front of the police accused of car theft. She explains to Kit that she quit her job in London, ‘borrowed’ her boss’s car without permission and headed north and her old home town of Weatherfield.
This is the kind of situation where it could be handy that Bethany’s mum’s boyfriend is a police officer, and Kit has shown what we might term a flexibility with the law many times in the past.
Will he bend the rules again to keep Bethany out of court?
