Coronation Street fans are convinced Kevin Webster is set to leave the cobbles after his wife Abi Franklin’s affair with his brother Carl was exposed
Coronation Street Kevin Webster’s exit ‘sealed’ after 42 years in suicide twist
Coronation Street viewers are speculating that the soap might soon be saying goodbye to Kevin Webster.
Kevin (Michael Le Vell), who first appeared on the show in 1983, has had a tough time recently. This year, his world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
His family and friends quickly rallied around him, including his wife Abi (Sally Carman) and sister Debbie (Sue Devaney), who faced her own devastating health crisis when she was diagnosed with vascular dementia.
Adding to the drama, Kevin and Debbie’s brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) made his first appearance after living in Germany for several years. However, it didn’t take long for Carl to stir up some trouble.

Despite trying to resist, Kevin’s wife Abi fell for Carl. Eventually, they gave into their feelings and have been secretly seeing each other, spurred on by Abi discovering that Kevin lied about still having cancer, reports the Daily Star.
Debbie caught Carl and Abi out, and although she was furious at the betrayal, she vowed not to tell Kevin for the sake of his children.
However, in Wednesday’s episode (October 8), Kevin discovered the truth about Abi and his brother’s affair, thanks to a massive mistake by Abi during a family birthday party.
Kevin was left seething after uncovering the truth, and following a period of calm, he had an emotional conversation with Abi. Despite his enduring love for his wife, Kevin proposed that they remain united and move on.
However, to his dismay, Sally confessed her love for Carl. Debbie offered comfort to Kevin later, but she neglected to inform him that she was already privy to Abi and Carl’s affair.
Now, fans are speculating a tragic exit for Kevin. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: “Are they building up to a male suicide storyline for Kevin?”.
Another chimed in: “They could be. Like what they did Aidan,” referencing Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) who tragically took his own life in 2018. A third concurred: “I was thinking that, with everything he’s been through so sad.”
Another fan exclaimed: “I bloody hope not, he’s better off without Abi!”
