“THE TRUTH IS SHOCKING!” Simon Cowell SUDDENLY REVEALS THE REAL REASON FOR HIS DISAPPEARANCE FROM BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT – IT WASN’T HEALTH-RELATED, IT WAS…!”

BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Simon Cowell has revealed his recent absence from the show’s auditions were due to him falling down another set of steps.

The programme’s head judge, who famously fainted and fell down the stairs of his London home in 2017, was unable to attend the first two days of filming for the Birmingham sessions after he had an accident.

Then, after Stacey Solomon helped fill his vacant space on the panel, he reappeared on the third day with a graze on his forehead but no explanation as to how he’d got the injury other than he’d had “an accident.”

Today at the Blackpool auditions of BGT Simon, 66, revealed the truth when a choir made up of ambulance workers came on stage.

Fellow judge Amanda Holden said to him: “I thought they might be here in case anything went wrong with you again because you were poorly last week.”

Simon, who took the remarks in good spirits, then elaborated in front of the choir and the huge audience at the Winter Gardens.

He said: “I fell down some steps, that wasn’t poorly, and I bumped my head but I’m fine now.

“I wish you had been around a couple of weeks ago when I actually bashed my head.

“Seriously – no one sang for me then!”

An inside source added: “Simon bumped his head when he stumbled on some steps. It’s the sort of thing that can happen to anyone. And, thankfully, he’s absolutely fine now.”

Simon certainly hasn’t had much luck over the years. The 2017 accident saw him stretchered out of his London home wearing a neck brace just before he was due to start filming the live shows for X Factor.

Then three years later he broke his back testing an electric bike in the ground of his US home and had to have extensive surgery and recovery time.

Simon’s accident happened on October 1, which was the day before the auditions for BGT were due to start in Birmingham. It led to them being cancelled.

But rather than shelve the second day, they brought in singer Stacey to make up the panel numbers to four and Amanda stood in as head judge.

On Saturday he returned and posted a video of himself showing off the graze in an online video and he said: “It’s Simon, I’m alive and I’m in Birmingham, I just want to say thank you for all your get well messages.”

He seemed back to his normal self this week as he posed on the red carpet for the Blackpool auditions alongside fellow judges Amanda, KSI and Alesha Dixon.
