Rylan Clark couldn’t resist making a cheeky comment to his former Strictly Come Dancing co-host Claudia Winkleman after she announced she was leaving the BBC show
Strictly Come Dancing’s former It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark couldn’t resist a playful jab when he reacted to Claudia Winkleman’s departure from the beloved BBC programme.
Earlier this week, Strictly enthusiasts were left reeling as longtime host Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who has co-presented alongside her since 2014, revealed they would be stepping down following this series.
Their departures will usher in a fresh chapter for Strictly, with many wondering who might step into their shoes, though Rylan chose to inject some humour into the situation.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter responded to Claudia’s farewell Instagram post with a cheeky quip: “Shoes as big as the fringe to fill” nodding to her signature black hairstyle.
Rylan, who fronted the companion show It Takes Two for three years, wasn’t alone among celebrities acknowledging the bombshell Strictly announcement.

Former professional dancer and current It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara took time to pay tribute to both Claudia and Tess on the spin-off programme.
“Tess has presented the show since its very first episode alongside the legendary Sir Bruce [Forsyth].
“Claudia originally presented our show before moving over to host the results show alongside Tess in 2010. They’ve both presented the main show and the results show together since 2014.
“Ladies, we are going to miss you both so much! But, luckily, we still have them for what promises to be the rest of a brilliant series and the Christmas special!” Meanwhile, another former Strictly professional dancer Oti Mabuse, also tipped as a potential replacement for Tess or Claudia, became tearful on Loose Women this week whilst discussing the announcement.

During her appearance on the chat show, Oti revealed: “They had to redo my makeup because I actually started crying.”
She then described a heartfelt telephone conversation with her sister and Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse: “We had two minutes of both of us in silence, we were both in shock, it came out of nowhere.
“It breaks my heart because I absolutely love them. I wish them luck and I wish them the best.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight, Saturday, October 25, marking the first programme since the presenters revealed their departures.
Whilst viewers anticipate they’ll reference the news, this evening will witness the celebrities tackling Icons Week with West End sensation Rachel Zegler joining the judging panel.
