Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas is giving fans a first glimpse into her next big project: an album of original songs that promises to showcase a side of her artistry audiences have never seen before. After capturing hearts with her 2024 BGT victory and releasing last year’s cover album ‘My Way’, Christmas is now turning her focus to writing and recording material that reflects her personal experiences and artistic growth.

In an exclusive interview with Jack Hardwick at Bizarre, the singer opened up about the creative journey. “This is so exciting. I never thought I would have an album of original songs. I have been writing since I was a child and never imagined it would see the light of day. Now that I’m an adult, I get to write and find my style. People see me and think: ‘She’s a theatrical singer,’ but that’s not all I do,” she explained.
Christmas has already revealed the first person she plans to share her new music with: BGT judge Amanda Holden. “All it takes is to message her, and she replies. I have a demo of a song I want to send her. I would never say: ‘Promote this for me,’ but I would ask for her opinion on the music,” Sydnie said, showing the strong mentor-student bond that began during her time on the show.

Her creative process is already well underway. Sydnie has been in Stockholm, writing and developing new songs for the album, sharing glimpses on social media: “A day in the life 🎥 My first day in Stockholm 🇸🇪 Writing more songs for my album 🥹📀🤍.” The BGT winner describes this work as both a personal and artistic exploration, saying, “I’m really enjoying the process. It’s talking about my life, my adventures, and my experiences. This is about finding my own voice beyond musical theatre and expressing who I am through original songs.”

Christmas, who recently wrapped up a run as Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians at the Hammersmith Apollo, is also preparing for her One Night Only style show at London’s Adelphi Theatre on September 9th. The performance will introduce some of her new songs, offering audiences a first taste of her original material while being filmed for PBS in America. “It’s an upgrade to my last show,” Sydnie said. “I’ll be introducing songs people haven’t heard yet, and it’s a really exciting moment to step into this next stage of my career.”

Despite her success, Christmas remains grounded, balancing her glamorous on-stage persona with her everyday life. “I’m such a tomboy off-stage — always in jeans, a top, and trainers — but on stage, I love stepping into this glamorous version of myself,” she said. “I love the glitter, the energy, and the feeling it gives me. Music is about connecting with people, and this is the space where I get to fully express that.”
Fans can expect Sydnie’s new album to merge her theatrical roots with authentic storytelling and contemporary influences. With her BGT victory behind her and a dedicated creative team supporting her, Christmas is poised to make a meaningful mark on the music world with her original songs. And before anyone else hears it, Amanda Holden will be the first to experience what promises to be a truly personal and transformative album.
