Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday’s episode (5 November), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale‘s April Windsor agrees to some time out from the village tonight as she remains trapped by evil Ray Walters. Is she about to be drawn even deeper into his web?

April plots her escape – this time with Ray’s blessing – after a hellish few weeks at the mercy of the village’s new criminal characters. Ray and his mum Celia Daniels are targeting young people in a drug and sex exploitation operation – and have repeatedly threatened April and Dylan Penders to keep them in line.

April kept quiet about her recent traumatic experiences, after imagining a worst-case outcome where she told Marlon the truth and Ray killed him to cover his tracks.

As Ray issues April’s latest instructions, he reveals that there are jobs for her to do over in Newcastle. He slyly suggests that this will help April to take her mind off Callum’s death drama – and avoid any temptation to confess.

When will April be back? And is there worse to come for her before her nightmare ends?

One thing’s for sure – the episode ends with another twist, as the viewers are let in on a secret involving April’s story…

Meanwhile, Michael Parr – who plays Ross Barton – recently shared a ray of hope for fans by hinting that his popular character could get involved in April’s storyline soon.

“I think that is starting to be released in the scripts soon. So I don’t know what’s going on with it, but we’ve always had a connection,” Michael told Inside Soap‘s weekly Soap Scoop podcast.

He continued: “I think if Ross is provoked and you hurt the wrong people around him, the old Ross is gonna come out. I did see a comment online the other day that said ‘Ross is a creep and a sociopath’. Ross has shot people, so he’s not one to be trifled with! Ross’s thing is that he’s physically violent. He’s a good fighter and he’s not scared of anyone. He’s just not that smart!

“But those two [Ray and Celia] are smart but probably aren’t as physically imposing. If they get caught in the wrong part of the farm, and there’s no one around, they’re going to come off much worse. So it’s a good mix of brain versus brawn, I think!”
