Taylor Swift has left Hollywood buzzing â not with a new album, but with a single yes that transformed the ending of Sydney Sweeneyâs thriller The Housemaid.
Director Paul Feig revealed he was convinced heâd never secure Swiftâs 2017 track I Did Something Bad for the filmâs final, pulse-racing moments. âWe were tempting with it,â he admitted, âbut I thought there was no way sheâd clear it.â
But after showing early cuts of the movie to Swift and her team, the impossible happened â she approved it.
Feig said he was âstunnedâ and âgrateful,â admitting he still canât believe it. âI guess she likes it. Thank you, Taylor!â
Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, who star in the dark, twist-heavy thriller, were equally emotional â even protective â about keeping the pop megastarâs anthem in the film.
âWe screamed when it played,â Seyfried confessed. Sweeney added: âWe couldnât lose it. It was so perfect.â
Fans agree â Swiftâs track adds a bold jolt of empowerment and rebellion to the movieâs ending, tying directly into its themes of manipulation, female rage, and survival.
Swiftâs music has electrified blockbusters before â from The Hunger Games to Fifty Shades Darker â but the placement in The Housemaid hits differently. It bridges generations, unites audiences, and elevates Sweeney and Seyfriedâs explosive performances with a song thatâs become an anthem in its own right.
With rave reviews calling the movie âoutrageously enjoyable,â and Swiftâs stamp of approval now part of its legacy, the filmâs finale is already being called one of the most satisfying in recent thrillers.
Sweeney herself is already teasing a sequel â and fans are dreaming of whether Swift might return for round two.
 Perfect casting.
 Electrifying soundtrack.
A Swift stamp that no one expected.
