Sydnie Christmas has hit back at her ‘vicious’ online trolls, revealing that the hate campaign against her was so brutal she felt her ‘soul was being destroyed’ just as she was living her dream.
-
The singer was forced to deny ‘utter rubbish’ claims that she was already a secret West End star, explaining to the Daily Mail she was actually working as a cleaner and on an egg farm to survive.
-
Sydnie revealed she still can’t get a West End audition, admitting that even after winning £250,000 and the show, she is still ‘fighting, fighting, fighting’ for leading roles.

The winner credits Amanda Holden for saving her career, as the judge’s Golden Buzzer moment came after years of rejection, including a failed audition just before the show.

She stood on the stage at the London Palladium, confetti falling around her as she was crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent.
But instead of pure elation, Sydnie Christmas felt a dark cloud looming.
“I woke up every day and expected to see hate,” the 29-year-old singer has revealed in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail .
While millions were blown away by her stunning rendition of Tomorrow, a vicious mob online was trying to tear her down.
The ‘Fix’ Claims That Shook Her
Almost immediately after receiving Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer, the comments section turned toxic.
Trolls accused Sydnie of being a “liar” and a “fraud,” insisting that the woman working the front desk of a gym was secretly a polished West End star.
“They plucked it out of the air,” she fumed. “I don’t know where they came up with these ideas but it was simply untrue.”
Unfounded rumors swirled that she was already famous, that she had a single on Spotify, or that she was a ‘Broadway star’.
“It was utter rubbish,” she told the Daily Mail .
‘My Soul Was Getting Destroyed’
The relentless attacks took a massive toll on the singer’s mental health.
Fans watching the show at home described the situation as “heartbreaking,” noting how the bullying seemed to only get worse after her triumph .
Feeling isolated and misunderstood, Sydnie admits the experience was agony. She confessed that the constant hate felt as if her “soul was getting destroyed” .

The Reality of ‘Starving Artist’ Life
The cruel irony is that while trolls accused her of privilege, Sydnie was quietly surviving on the breadline.
To make ends meet before the show, she took a zero-hour contract at a local gym . But that was just one of many grim jobs.
“I have worked different jobs, I have been a cleaner, I worked at a cash converter, I tried dancing, I have worked on an egg farm,” she revealed .
She said that while contestants are often typecast as ‘singers’, the reality is they often take any menial work just to pursue their passion.
Still Fighting for the West End
Perhaps the most heartbreaking part of Sydnie’s story is that winning the competition hasn’t magically opened the doors she dreamed of.
Despite her powerful voice and national fame, she is still being rejected by the very industry she fought to join.
“I know after winning Britain’s Got Talent people will probably think life is going to be wow, but no, you’re still fighting,” she admitted.
She revealed she is still auditioning for roles, still being turned down, and still facing the same brutal rejections she did before the show.
“I auditioned for the London show in the West End just before going for Britain’s Got Talent and didn’t get it,” she said .
Sold Out Tours and Royal Validation
Sydnie eventually channelled the rage and sadness into her work.
Following her win, she announced a headline show at London’s His Majesty’s Theatre, which sold out rapidly .
She also performed at the legendary Hollywood Bowl during David Foster’s 75th Birthday Concert, sharing a stage with icons like Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban .
Despite these global triumphs, casting directors remain unmoved.
The Golden Buzzer Saviour
Through it all, Sydnie says her relationship with Amanda Holden remains a lifeline.
The judge, who slammed the Golden Buzzer for Sydnie, has stayed by her side.
“It was the best thing she’s ever done,” Sydnie beamed, reflecting on the moment Holden took a chance on her .
Holden famously stripped Sydney’s mother of her shirt during a backstage visit to create a “Vote Sydnie” sign, proving her commitment to the talent she discovered .
Sydnie is currently preparing for the release of her new album, ‘My Way’, which is set for release on September 20th .
SIDEBAR: The backlash and the boys
Who is Max Rizzo?
While fans speculated about her love life, Sydnie kept her relationship with Italian actor Max Rizzo relatively private . The couple, who both appeared in Starlight Express in Germany, have supported each other through the turmoil.
What’s next for Sydnie?
Despite the hate, Sydnie is moving forward with her ‘My Way’ UK tour and has set her sights firmly on eventually landing the coveted role of a leading lady in the West End . She has also recorded a special version of “We’ll Meet Again” to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day .
