“WAS THIS REALLY JUST A BIRTHDAY POST?” Meghan Markle’s latest tribute to Princess Lilibet was meant to be a sweet family celebration. Instead, the newly released photos of Harry and Lilibet quickly sparked fresh debate online, with critics questioning whether the intimate images were shared for personal reasons or public attention. Supporters say it’s simply a mother celebrating her daughter’s special day. Critics argue it’s another carefully managed Sussex publicity moment. Either way, the discussion has rapidly become bigger than the birthday itself — and people online can’t stop talking about it.

Meghan captioned the post: “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili.”

A separate image shared by Meghan shows young Lilibet alone in a garden.

Princess Lilibet, now five, was born on June 4, 2021, making her seventh in line to the throne.

Meghan also shared a sweet picture of her son Archie to celebrate his seventh birthday on May 6.

Kate & King celebrate work of heroes 2 years after pair diagnosed with cancer

The Duchess of Sussex posted nostalgic family photos to her Instagram account.

She shared a picture of baby Archie resting on Prince Harry‘s chest, peacefully sleeping under a white blanket.

The young royal is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne, one place ahead of his sister.

Another picture showed Archie walking hand in hand with his little sister Lilibet.

The birthday celebrations came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently completed their ‘faux royal tour’ in Australia.

It was the first they’ve headed Down Under since their official headline-dominating rift with the Firm, which saw them leave the UK in 2020.

During their trip, the Harry and Megan spoke to children at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and posed for photographs with patients.

And, last month, Meghan posted clips of the Sussexes taking part in an Easter Egg hunt, feeding chickens and decorating eggs at their home in California.

In one video, Lilibet, four, can be seen walking through the garden of their Montecito property wearing bunny ears and holding onto a plush rabbit.

The Princess is also shown clutching a basket alongside Archie as they race to reach an Easter Egg as Meghan watches on.

Meghan has also recently posted 12 unseen wedding photos to celebrate eight years of marriage to Prince Harry tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
