“ALL THOSE NIGHTS OF OPENING STRING CHEESE FOR THE KIDS… SOMEWHAT LED TO THIS MOMENT.” A simple song about motherhood, exhaustion, postpartum struggles, and tiny hands demanding string cheese amidst the chaos… became the song that helped Hannah Harper win “American Idol.” And when Ryan Seacrest finally announced her name, the stage erupted with emotion. Her husband, Devon, looked incredibly moved in the crowd. Her parents wept as they watched their daughter, who had once traveled the country singing gospel music on their family’s red tour bus, suddenly become America’s new Idol. And Hannah herself could barely sing, sobbing as confetti rained down around her. And somehow… the entire United States heard every word she said.
