Gordon Ramsay Responds To The Viral ‘Dog Poop’ Restaurant Controversy

Gordon Ramsay is finally responding to the viral “dog poop” controversy that has completely taken over TikTok, and according to him, the internet got the story very, very wrong.

If you somehow missed this saga, a TikTok user claimed she witnessed a dog using a pee pad inside Gordon Ramsay’s Street Pizza restaurant in London while customers were eating nearby—with video evidence to prove it. The series of posts immediately exploded online, with commenters horrified over what they viewed as a complete hygiene nightmare.

Now, Ramsay is pushing back hard. In comments to TMZ, the celebrity chef said the entire situation was “overexaggerated” and claimed that CCTV footage showed the dog “under no circumstances” relieved itself inside the restaurant. He also clarified that dogs are only allowed on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace. The explanation doesn’t exactly exonerate the restaurant, though, because the dog was filmed standing on a potty pad indoors.

And, even with Ramsay’s rebuttal, the internet is still spiraling. “This is how they started the bubonic plague😭,” one commenter wrote.

“Oh, so it’s definitely not a service dog. This shit is crazy. The dog should’ve never been in the restaurant,” another person added.

Others compared the controversy to a literal public health crisis, with one viral comment reading, “This is how we get new diseases…y’all stay safe London.”

Another user wrote, “Lol ok so tell me why McDonald’s has better standards than Gordon Ramsey? EMBARRASSING!!”

Honestly, the sheer intensity of the reactions feels very on brand for the internet in 2026. One dog, one pee pad, and suddenly TikTok is acting like London is entering its medieval plague era. Still, considering Gordon Ramsay has built an entire empire off screaming at restaurants for hygiene violations, people clearly found the irony impossible to ignore.
