The Princesses are struggling after being dragged into their disgraced parents’ scandals.
Between their father Andrew’s arrest and their mother Sarah Ferguson’s self-imposed exile, it’s safe to say that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are suffering the fallout from their parents’ association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

An insider tells heat, ‘The princesses are devastated by what’s happening – their worlds are falling apart. Jack and Edo are both doing their best to be supportive, but the strain is affecting their home life. Their view of their parents has been irreparably shattered, they’re facing social ruin, and now Jack and Edo have been dragged into the drama, as they are facing questions about Andrew – it’s mortifying. Obviously, it’s not the girls’ fault, but that doesn’t mean it’s not causing tension.’
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson’s friendship with Epstein has been one of the biggest scandals to ever hit the royal family. Andrew – who denies any wrongdoing – was first accused by Virginia Giuffre in 2014 of having sex with her after she was trafficked by Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving 20 years in a US prison on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Virginia’s posthumous memoir in October – released six months after she died by suicide – detailed the allegations, including that Andrew correctly guessed her age as 17, when she met him in March 2001. She alleged he told her, ‘My daughters are just a little younger than you.’
Just before he paid a reported £12million to settle Virginia’s civil sexual assault case in 2022, Andrew was stripped of his HRH title. And in October 2025, he announced he was voluntarily giving up his dukedom and other honours, before King Charles, 77, stripped him of his ‘prince’ title a month later.
Things came to a head on 19 February – his 66th birthday – when Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, after the force said they were assessing a complaint over his alleged sharing of confidential material with Epstein during his time as trade envoy for the UK. Searches were undertaken at both his temporary residence on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and his previous home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, and the former Duke of York was released under investigation and pictured leaving Aylsham police station at 7pm the same evening.

The source continues, ‘If they were to come out decisively against their parents, it would draw a line in the sand and put people more at ease, no doubt also making things easier for their husbands.’
Property developer Edo – who also shares nine-year-old son Wolfie with his ex partner, Dara Huang – has recently spent considerable time in Palm Beach, Florida, for work.
Our insider says, ‘Although Edo had good reason to fly to the US – no one is saying he and Beatrice are splitting – friends are worried that if the stress doesn’t ease up, there could be dire consequences for both the girls’ marriages. It’s all-consuming and the girls are shattered. They’re doing their very best not to give in to total hysteria, but it’s no exaggeration to say this is the hardest thing they’ve ever endured, and they’re feeling the consequences publicly. They’re used to flying under the radar, now when they walk into rooms, the conversations are stopping mid-sentence. It’s very uncomfortable.’
Eugenie and Beatrice are also reportedly being frozen out by the rest of their family. Despite spending Christmas with senior royals including King Charles and their cousin Prince William, it’s reported that the Princesses are now banned from attending Royal Ascot with the rest of the family in June, which we’re told has ‘intensified that sense of exclusion’.
And thanks to the Andrew-sized elephant in the room, the source says the four have also been largely ostracised from their usual crowd. We’re told, ‘They’re feeling like total outcasts in their social set right now, including Jack and Edo, who’ve always been so popular. They both love their wives and insist that their marriages are strong enough to weather this storm, but living under constant scrutiny and embarrassment is exhausting.’
The insider adds, ‘No one knows what to say, which just makes it very awkward, and the instinct is for people to turn their backs. People feel they need to speak up to save their own skin. This isn’t going away, and if they don’t deal with it, the unfortunate fact is, it has the potential to derail their lives in countless ways.’
