Jenny Marrs and her family celebrated her youngest son’s birthday in the most special way. The HGTV star shared a peek at their unique accommodations while on vacation — and it was the perfect choice for her penguin-loving kid.
Jenny Marrs & Family Sleep at a Zoo: ‘Bucket List Experience’
On June 5, Marrs took to Instagram to share some scenes from their special stay at a zoo.
“When your penguin-loving boy gets to celebrate his birthday (week) sleeping inside the penguin exhibit 🙌🤍,” she wrote in the caption.
Marrs continued, “I have so much to share about Pairi Daiza but let’s start with the Penguin room! I happened upon this magical place online last fall and knew that we would be nearby this summer so I joined the online queue on opening day for reservations and, 15 hours later, I booked the Penguin and Polar Bear rooms!”
“SO worth it! Bucket list experience ✔️!!” she added. “I had HIGH expectations and it has exceeded every one tenfold. 10/10 recommend!!”
The HGTV star took fans along for the ride in her Instagram Stories, showing the penguin and polar bear views from their rooms and scenes of other animals and sights from around the zoo.
Marrs noted that she wished they could stay longer, explaining, “This place truly is incredible!!”
Fans flooded the comments section to rave about Marrs’ unique hotel stay. “I don’t think I’d be able to sleep, lol. I’d be too enchanted by the cute little penguins 😍 So much fun! Continued safe travels,” one fan wrote.
Marrs admitted, “I did watch them at 4 am 😂.” She shared, “I also didn’t realize they slept standing up. Some were lying down but most were just perfectly still. It was so cute!”
Another fan gushed, “I love this for him so much! 🙌.”
Marrs responded, “It was in Luke’s words ‘paradise!’ ❤️☺️”

Dave & Jenny Marrs Travel to Normandy With Family
On April 6, Marrs took to her Instagram Stories to share another family’s post about their vacation.
She explained how their note to “Travel with your people while the window is open,” spoke to her.
“I loved this travel recap and this wise note to ‘travel with your people while the window is open,’” Marrs shared.
The HGTV star continued, “We planned a trip back to Normandy with Dave’s parents (my parents came the first time and we collectively convinced his parents that it is the most significant and life-changing place we have ever visited) but weren’t able to go because of his mom’s health.”
Marrs added, “So we are taking his dad this summer. It will certainly be bittersweet. It’ll be hard and sad and also worth it.”
