Which ‘Battle on the Beach’ Season 5 Team Has the Most Wins So Far?
The competition in Battle on the Beach Season 5 so far has been anything but a relaxing day by the ocean.
The HGTV competition series returned for its fifth outing on June 1, despite reports that the show had been canceled after Season 4. Set in South Carolina’s Grand Strand, the new episodes follow three teams as they transform run-down beachside properties into stunning vacation homes. The team with the highest short-term rental rate will take home bragging rights and a minimum cash prize of $50,000. Additionally, each week’s winning team must choose between accepting $3,000 or adding $6,000 to the grand prize.
Ty Pennington returned as a mentor for the new season, alongside 100 Day Dream Home‘s Mika Kleinschmidt and Renovation Island‘s Sarah Baeumler, the latter of whom previously served as a judge on Battle on the Beach. The new cast additions also include Renovation Aloha‘s Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama as judges.
Episode 3 — which aired on Monday, June 15 — saw the teams tackle their homes’ main suites, including the main bedroom and a full bathroom. The challenge ended on a surprising note, as two teams tied for the episode’s win.

Battle on the Beach, Mondays, 9/8c, HGTV

Team Sarah: Steven & Angelina Jacobs
Total wins: 1
Angelina and Steven secured the first win of the season with their living room and entry space designs. “This win is very important because we’ve been going through our own situations, you know, from sleeping on other people’s couches,” Angelina began in a post-win confessional before getting choked up. “This money would literally help us be more comfortable.”
Calling Battle on the Beach a “one in a million” opportunity, Angelina added, “We need to keep this winning momentum going.” The spouses ended the episode taking home $3,000 rather than adding $6,000 to the final prize.
Angelina and Steven failed to secure more wins during Episodes 2 and 3.

Team Ty: Michelle Mueller & Sydney Lorence
Total wins: 2
After losing the season premiere’s design challenge, the mother-daughter duo’s luck turned around in Episode 2 by winning with their kitchen renovation.
“I do feel like the kitchen is one of the main spaces of a house. So, to have won one of the big ones, I feel like I’m very proud of us for that,” Sydney said in a post-win confessional. “And I hope that we can keep it going.” Team Ty chose to take the $3,000 rather than add money to the season’s grand prize.
Michelle and Sydney secured their second win of the competition by tying with Josiah and Anna during Episode 3’s main suite challenge. Both winning teams chose to add their winnings to the season’s cash prize.

Team Mika: Josiah & Anna Julian
Total wins: 1
After losing Episode 1 to their fellow married couple, Josiah said he and Anna “did the best” they could with the house Angelina and Steven assigned to them.
The spouses faced another loss in Episode 2, but they tied with Michelle and Sydney during Episode 3’s main suite renovation. Like their fellow winners, they chose to double their cash winnings and add it to the final grand total.
“Having a little bit more of a grand prize, it’s a little bit more incentive to push a little harder,” Josiah said of the pair’s decision. “And if we can win that grand prize, it’ll help our future.”
