Cancelling all work commitments, Rylan Clark rushed to hospital to care for his mother after she was urgently admitted due to a mysterious illness

Rylan Clark has revealed that his beloved mum, Linda, was rushed to hospital earlier this week—just days before her 73rd birthday. The 36-year-old BBC Radio 2 host took to Instagram to update fans and announce that he would be stepping back from work temporarily to focus on her recovery.

“Mummy Linda isn’t well sadly so I won’t be hosting the show tomorrow,” he wrote on Friday evening, referring to his usual weekend radio slot. He thanked the emergency staff at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex, giving a special mention to a nurse named Tanya for taking care of his mother.

Later that night, Rylan shared a positive update: “She’s doing really well thankfully. All going good. Cheers for all ur messages.” He assured followers he’d keep them informed as Linda continues to recover.

Linda, known to many from her heartwarming appearances alongside Rylan on Celebrity Gogglebox, has become a fan favourite in her own right. Just days before her health scare, Rylan proudly announced that Linda had finally joined Instagram. “Can’t believe this is happening,” he joked, sharing that she’d already racked up over 100,000 followers.

Despite not fully understanding the platform, Linda expressed her gratitude in a post, writing: “Thank you for 100k followers! Still don’t really know what it means but Ross is helping me.”

As Rylan takes a step back, radio presenter Richie Anderson will temporarily take over hosting duties on Rylan On Saturday. He’ll be joined by Diana Vickers for a relationship-themed segment called Diana’s Dilemmas.

For now, Rylan’s focus is on family. “She’s a trooper,” he said about Linda — and fans couldn’t agree more.
