‘I’ll See You Up There’: Sir Rod’s Chilling Goodbye to Rock’s Darkest Icon. ‘Ozzy Forever!’: Rock Legends and Global Stars Unite in Powerful Farewell as Prince of Darkness Passes Aged 76

The music world is mourning the loss of Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away at 76, with emotional tributes pouring in from some of the industry’s most iconic figures, including Sir Elton John, Sir Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Jason Momoa.

The Osbourne family announced that Ozzy died peacefully at home, “surrounded by love.” Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis asked for privacy, saying, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed.”

Sir Elton John called Ozzy a “huge trailblazer” who “secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods.” He added: “He was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly.”

Sir Rod Stewart wrote: “Bye, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I’ll see you up there—later rather than sooner.”

Ronnie Wood, who shared the stage with Ozzy at his final concert at Villa Park, reflected on the “lovely goodbye” they shared during the Back to the Beginning show earlier this month.

Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates declared simply and powerfully: “Ozzy forever!”

Jason Momoa, who joined Ozzy onstage less than three weeks ago, posted an emotional photo with him and Sharon backstage, writing, “Love you, Ozzy… RIP. So grateful.”

Yungblud, devastated by the news, said Ozzy would remain in “every single note I sing.” The cross Ozzy gifted him is now “the most precious thing” he owns.

Queen’s Brian May called Ozzy’s final concert “a glorious way to say goodbye.” He said he was grateful to have shared quiet words with Ozzy after the show, calling him a “fearless talent.”

Other heartfelt messages came from Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Adam Sandler, Sir David Beckham, and Piers Morgan. Piers recalled Ozzy once told him, “Meeting Sharon was the best moment of my life.”

Osbourne’s journey began in Birmingham, where he formed Black Sabbath in 1969 with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. After overcoming battles with addiction, he became a solo sensation and a reality TV icon alongside Sharon and their children.

He is survived by Sharon, their three children—Jack, Kelly, and Aimee—and two from his previous marriage.
