Prince George celebrates his 13th birthday today (July 22), and royal fans said the young teenager is the spitting image of one of his lesser-known family members

Prince George is officially a teenager – and he’s already starting to look just like some of his family members.
He was once the baby of the Prince and Princess of Wales, but now Prince George is almost the same height as his mother as he finally reaches a huge milestone in his life. The future King is celebrating his 13th birthday today (July 22) and has quite a big year coming up. The eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton is set to follow in his father’s footsteps by enrolling into Eton College this September. George is expected to attend the £63,000-a-year school on a full-time basis.
And while the royal would grow up to look just like his dad, Prince William, there are other Royal Family members he bears a striking resemblance to. In fact, royal fans on social media have pointed out that George looks just like one lesser-known member of his family most know very little about.
In a post on Instagram, one royal fan shared a side-by-side image of Prince George alongside an old snap of his great-uncle Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, who is the younger brother of George’s late paternal grandmother, Princess Diana.
The two seem to bear a striking resemblance to one another, with George appearing to be the spitting image of what Earl Spencer looked like when he was a young lad.
The royal fan wrote alongside the photos: “There’s no doubt that Prince George is a Spencer. What do you think? Does he look like his great-uncle Charles or not?”

Commenters seemed split on the comparison, however. Many said they could see the resemblance, but others claimed George looks more like other members of his family, including his great-great-grandfather, King George VI.
One person said: “For the first time, I saw the Spencer in him in these Easter photos.” Another added: “Definitely has some Spencer.”
But another argued: “No way – he is 100% a Windsor. Looks like King George VI,” to which someone else agreed, writing: “I think he looks like his great-great-grandfather, King George VI.”
One more commenter also pointed out the connection to the late monarch, stating: “George has King George VI’s eyes, Queen Elizabeth’s father.”
Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis draw comparison to older royals
Prince George isn’t the only member of his family who gets compared to other royals, either. Both of his siblings, 11-year-old Princess Charlotte and eight-year-old Prince Louis, have also been described as the “spitting image” of older royals while they make appearances at public events.
During Trooping the Colour last month, royal fans said Prince Louis seemed to look exactly like his maternal grandfather, Michael Middleton. One fan said he was the “double” of Princess Catherine’s father, also noting the young royal was “growing up fast”.
When Princess Charlotte celebrated her 11th birthday in April, fans were quick to point out two members of her family she looked remarkably similar to – her grandmother, Princess Diana, and great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Childhood photographs of both women were placed alongside a picture of Charlotte on Facebook, and the likenesses are remarkable, with commenters admitting they couldn’t determine which member of the Royal Family she most takes after.
People on the post were split between claiming Charlotte “looks like the Queen” and she “resembles Diana”, drawing comparisons to both her late relatives. Others, however, firmly insisted she is “a beautiful young girl in her own right”.
Last year, William and Kate marked George’s 12th birthday by releasing a heart-warming portrait of him dressing in his country casuals, followed by a video of him playing and giggling with Charlotte and Louis.
